Job Description

Following our recent appointment on Cadent’s Multi Activity Framework and our existing National Grid Framework, J N Bentley are looking for a Project Estimator to join our team to help lead the commercial estimates of a variety of Civils and Mechanical projects throughout England and Wales to help in the delivery of works for Cadent Gas & National Grid Frameworks – clients to JN Bentley and ones that offer plenty of opportunities for growth and development, for our colleagues and our business. , we have an exciting opportunity for a Project Estimator

The Role:

As a Project Estimator within our Cadent / National Grid team, you’ll report into a Contracts Manager, with the opportunity to build up and develop commercial estimates , quality returns , visiting sites and working closely with the design team to meet the client’s requirements and internal processes on a variety of projects. You will work closely with the team to re view opportunities, manage workload and resource plans.

You will have the opportunity to lead contract reviews, ensuring compliance with internal & client governance procedures.

  • Degree/HND in engineering, construction management, quantity surveying or another relevant subject
  • Experience in a similar role from a civils or Mechanical background
  • It would be preferential to have experience on CANDY but not essential as low complexity works can be priced on excel and training provided for CANDY .
  • Familiarity of working with NEC Form of Contract
  • Understanding of safety, environmental and quality management processes
  • Understanding of commercial, contractual and procurement processes
  • Strong communication, good numerical and analytical skills
  • Microsoft Project or similar experience
  • It would be preferential to have Gas sector experience but not essential as you would have an experienced team to support you.
